Always love hearing this gal's voice...and her musical arrangements are pretty good, too...thanks, RP, for turning me onto her!

Do you know what she's singing? I suspect the "overclocking" was intentional and probably required to make this song the scary little gem it is. |

I adore this song. It's haunting, sad, and beautiful in its pain. I love Heather Nova's music; I have pretty much all of it and she's consistenly amazing. This is a great song to play on the guitar too. We definitely need more Heather Nova on RP.

Listening while sunbathing with a the lovely bride and a pitcher of marguaritas ... was floating away on Nova's tune, then you chased it with It's a Beautifuil Day's 'White Bird' ..... we're gone... ;P Thanks ! |

A lot of good art and music has been created by people who could use a therapist. |

The commenters who dislike this song are not commenting on its merits. Having never heard it before, my respect for Heather Nova has increased considerably. As another commenter noted (more or less), writing something that expresses things so well is not easy and I think this is powerful writing, and music.

Not sure how I ever heard Heather Nova in the days where the internet was just getting started... this certainly wasn't played on FM radio.
Regardless... had this album all the way back to 1995 and loved it from beginning to end. This got a lot of play in my CD player.

Bumping this up to 9. The more I listen, the more I think my Canadian friends have slighted her talent (Stephane, shame on you!) She has depth and perception, and a lot of pain. This song proves that.
