One of the best duets in my adult life.
Love it.

Fine, fine tune.
Reading some comments and had a hankering for Telegraph Road, but Via Rail is blocking access to Grooveshark on their complimentary wifi.
Glad RP is under their radar!

japanmoran wrote:I would buy a CD of Mark Knopfler tuning his guitar. He is that good. I completely agree. I was fortunate enough to see him live once. Sat near the very front of the concert hall and was able to see all the details. He is brilliant when it comes to impeccably timed minimalism. I had been convinced that he wouldn't play 'Telegraph Road' because of the length, but about half way through, one of his back up musicians started playing that first, drawn out note, on some sort of Scottish pipe and the rest was utterly magical! |

So many of Knopfler's recordings feature a strong backbeat. This one is Chad Cromwell. |

Ya know, I've owned this CD for quite a while, and when I heard RP playing it so often at first, I thought I should just give it a 6, if I remember correctly......which I probably don't....It's a 9 now.

Judging by the comments, this is the recurring Knopfler loop. I'm as much a fan as anyone, but that's a bit too much, well, repetition isn't quite the right word. Time to move on.

This is not a bad thing, in my opinion. I'm glad you're not complaining. There are others on this thread who are. Seriously, this song transcends pretty much everything in my musical library. I AM going to purchase it, put it in my Sidekick, and take a summer roadtrip to Oregon, simply because I love this music so much. It really is the kind of song where once it begins, I just want to hit the road and keep on driving... |

Yeah.........I know what you mean, some days do seem like that. I used to love his work, now I'm more neutral & just kind of zone out while waiting for the next song to play.... |
