I'm really glad to hear these guys on RP. It's not their fault every top 40 radio station played Stacy's Mom on repeat. They have some really catchy and fun tunes.

Eh, a lot of the groups from this era went a little 'crazy' in the late 90's/early 00's (exhibit B: Counting Crows). I'll remember Fountains of Wayne fondly for this song instead. |

I still clearly remember the first time I heard this - a buddy sent me the CD that he'd gotten as a promo. They hadn't broken yet and I had no idea what I was getting into. Cranked it up, and this was the first tune.
LOUD AND WONDERFUL! Oh freakin' yeah!
In fact, I sang songs like "Survival Car" to my infant sons as I rocked them to sleep. It worked pretty well!

Clever Bill, following Counting Crows with Fountains of Wayne. One must presume you know of Adam's past inclusion of this very song in alternate live versions of Crows songs. To be honest I prefer Adam's version, but this is a decent song nonetheless. Oh dear, I hope this doesn't make me look like a rabid Counting Crows fan. It's been a long time since I've been a regular listener, but I still remember my "rabid" days... |
