Wow, sometimes I feel like Bill is sneaking a peek at my record collection!
I just love this album. "People, People" is the standout track to me. It would really fit in here at RP (IMHO).

Don't forget his work with the James Gang - "Bang" and "Miami" or his work on Billy Cobham's "Spectrum." |

Tommy Bolin was awesome. The imagery of the lyrics in this tune is seductive. I'm gonna hav e have "Tight Gin And Tonic" tonite. What does that mean "Tight"? |

First concert I ever saw was Tommy Bolin at the town auditorium in Sioux City. Great add! If you can find a good copy of "The Grind" I would suggest a listen.
So cool that you got to see him in his hometown! He was a true original. |

I can't believe I'm agreeing with someone from Cleveland. You are correct about "Come Taste The Band." |

Me too conglif. I'll have to go to the attic and pull the vinyl out and put it on the Technics.

Wow, what a gem. Tommy Bolin's two disks have been a guilty pleasure of mine for years. It's really great to hear one of his finest here...How about Sweet Burgundy next time??

toterola wrote:Yeah, "Teaser" is a good album, but Tommy really shone through on "Private Eyes". That guitar riff on "Bustin' Out for Rosie" is too much! I've got "Bustin' Out for Rosie" and "Shake the Devil" uploaded to the LRC. Look for them and "dimple a Chad" (Florida voting reference) for them. I'm thinking of throwing "Post Toastee"'s hat into the LRC ring, too (just as soon as one of my four uploads eats it or gets added). |

I was going to upload some Tommy Bolin on the LRC but noticed that most has been rejected. Don't know why after reading all the love given out here. Maybe I will try again.
One of the most original and talented Guitarist of the 70's. First heard him on Bill Cobham's Spectrum LP. His sound complimented Billy's distinctive drumming. What could have been!

Quite a guitarist, lots of personality, and soul, sad that he died in his prime, one more talented individual lost to heroin addiction.

Tommy's work with Billy Cobham was incredible. He was bound to no genre. Thanks for playing this. |

Now I just remember him as one of the most talented guitar players I've ever seen.
