So, what's wrong with birkenstocks and gingham?  Comfortable, versatile, and just plain fun.  A lot like Grant-Lee Phillips, except that he's got a lot more to offer than just comfort.... Love this song. {#Sunny}

Transition or blatant lift? {#Eyes}

There's an album called Quark, Strangeness and Charm but quarks are known to exist. You know I don't think there are, but I think there are some that would make some good album/band names. The Sleptons has a nice ring to it.

I don't know this album, but I have all of Grant Lee Buffalo releases, and 2 or 3 of his solo work - not a bad album in the bunch.

I've always looked on cynicism as a positive attribute. Used in moderation of course.

I think a lack of cynicism to the world around you helps, maybe the folks who like this song have that gene..

  Excuse my ignorance but is/was Grant Lee Philips in a band called Grant Lee Buffalo?

Great song.  Thought it was Bruce Springsteen, but that is probably why Bill decided to play it after a Bruce song!

Grant Lee Phillips was one of my more pleasant music "discoveries" of last year. I knew about him and had heard all the RP songs, but decided to delve into his catalogue a bit. Great stuff.

Can't understand all the positive comments, I find it incredibly irritating. Maybe I just don't have the "Country music is listenable" gene.
  Is this Country? I thought it was jus a nice little Pop song.

I don't know if it's a "nice" anything, but no, it ain't country, neither.

+1 —- reminds me of a lot of different artists in the genre described above.  I hear a little Wallflowers in there too ;)
