The solos did it for me. These sound better live than most studio stuff.

In my Top 5 live albums ever. Here's my list, in no particular order:

One More From The Road- Lynyrd Skynyrd
Waiting For Columbus- Little Feat
Live At Leeds- The Who
Get Yer Ya-Yas Out- The Stones
One For The Road- The Kinks

Also, I would say that the version of The Feat that is still touring is worth seeing. They can rock it with the best.

But back in the day, with Lowell George? When they were good, there was no better live band on the planet.
And that's for reals. {#Bananapiano}

THIS band should have gotten the kind of attention and accolades that the Grateful Dead got. They were a much better band of musicians IMHO. This is a great, great live album! Yep.{#Bananasplit}

The album was very well recorded - sounds great on an audiophile rig, especially Spanish Moon!

LF has certainly lived on past Lowell George, to an extent.   I thought they put out several competent albums in the years following his death.   Let It Roll & Representing the Mambo were better than average.  Paul Barrere and Bill Payne, in particular, are great musicians.   I remember reading a review of Let It Roll in 1988 in a local San Francisco newspaper.   The reviewer noted that LF still sounded very good.  But he noted that without Lowell George, they no longer sounded dangerous.     I now think about that every time i listen to LF.  It rings true to me.    With Lowell George, they sound like something unpredictable will happen anytime.   Without Lowell George, they just sound like a tight bar band.

Interesting and notable observation. I love Let It Roll! But point taken.
