Yes, and I nearly turned this off immediately on hearing those first few strums.
But it turns out I don't hate this nearly as much. Just don't particularly care for it, either.

I don't know... U2 made millions with this same progression in With or Without You. I don't remember anyone complaining about the chords or the repetition. Actually, now that I think about it, I was complaining about it back then.
