Hmm Radiohead is my favorite band, but I do agree that RP plays them a bit too much. People who hate Radiohead don't want to hear it all the time, and I listen to enough Radiohead from my own music collection.

I think Radiohead's sound has changed tremendously over time. I love both OK Computer and the Bends. Their earlier stuff... meh. Amnesiac - couldn't get it out of the player fast enough. In Rainbows - I'm not getting it at all; it's not offensive, but it's just sorta bland. Some of In Rainbows, i.e. Reckoner, Nude, is music that I have never heard, or thought could exist, before. The eclectic sounds next to Thom's voice is incredible. 'Bland' is just moronic. |

so what PT song will knock my socks off and make me a believer? I'm trying to make an educated evaluation here.
Try Sound of Muzak, Stars Die, or especially Trains. And if you can lay your hands on their live DVD it's good pretty much from beginning to end. Let me know what you think. |

Radiohead is similar to Porcupine Tree only in that it is rooted in prog rock (Yes, Emerson/Lake/Palmer, etc.) It's hard to get to love for most people, complex melodies, smarter than the average listener's stuff. You know...nerd music. Love it. |
