Her voice contains a sweetness that is pure and clear.  It usually raises goose bumps on my arm, and this time was no exception.

Yes he might be. I tried to get his version of City of New Orleans on RP but unfortunately it was rejected.

Actually the 'cheese' remark referred to a different song than this one, and one that did not even involve Ms. Raitt or Mr. Prine.  See remarks below.  There is no cheese anywhere on this gorgeous tune.

Mr. Prine, man, I first was made aware of him watching Austin City Limits away long time ago on public television... his show was great writtin word, super real voice, laughing one song and then silent sobbing to the next.
Ms. Raitt is an angel

I've seen her perform this from 15 feet away and it brought me to tears.

Er,  different Bonnie (Bonnie Tyler).  The audio file linked below is mislabeled. Thankfully...

This is an excellent fireside sing-along song and right here is an absolutely perfect performance rendition!  {#Notworthy}

Every once in awhile Bill plays 'Sam Stone'. My all-time fave JP tune is 'Muhlenberg County', but he has so many great songs. One of the best songwriters ever.

Hard to improve on this version -  Raitt and Prine together.

Love the contrast between Bonnie's sweet and silky voice against the gravel of Prine.

Saw them in concert here many years ago.  Great show!  There was some guy yelling for them to do a certain song during the first part of the show.  He was "removed" at intermission.  We were all thankful for that.

Such depth. I'm not a huge Prine fan, but this one gives me the chills everytime. What a gem this is.
