My favorite of any Jack White is this band - so, so good - just great rock'n'fuckin'roll, man! Jack quirky, but with a reall solid rhythm section & poppy-esque co-leader to not have it derail too far off the Zepp/Beat path...

This is the first time I've heard this group. Good stuff. Musically has interestingly complicated notes. The vocals immediately made me think of Crosby, Stills and Nash. It's great to know that some younger musicians out there still now how to read music. |

Sometimes I think that just by being played many times, plus that it's Jack White singing, people give this a much higher rating than it deserves. This is not a good song. 7.5? No way. Hmmm. We can't have it both ways. Mostly people say that overplaying a song kills it. Anyway, it gets a 7 from me. |

Maroon 5 had a couple decent songs that they keep recycling again and again. While moderately talented as musicians, you can plug any song into the "hit maker" equation and realize that they are all carefully constructed to get people to buy the album and not written and performed for the love of the craft. In a lot of ways, they are a good example of what happens to what could have been an interesting band when the members get a taste of commercial success. Artistic integrity was replaced with a fat stack of cash. |
