Really?

I declare a moratorium on things relationship
I declare a respite from the toils of liaison
I do need a breather from the flavors of entanglement
I declare a full time out from all things commitment

The connection between the two. Morissette is signed to the Maverick Record label. A company partly owned by Madonna (60%) and Warners (40%). Madonna once had full control of the (Maverick) label, but in recent years that control has ended following a heavy lawsuit between Madonna and Warner Bros. Under the new deal, Madonna will have no say in Maverick, but she will keep recording for Warner Bros., her home base since 1984.

Gotta say, I half-way liked this track the first few times it was played, but the heavy rotation lately has inspired a passionate distaste that I'm quite incapable of communicating here. The Orbital-produced background ambiance is greatly appreciated, the off-rhyming, syncopated lyrics provided by Alanis are not. Please, Bill, reconsider; if she was shorted her 15 minutes, you've certainly compensated her sufficiently by now. O_O

I totally agree, however It took me only one listen to come to your well worded conclusion.{#Clap}

The lyrics are oddly stilted, unnatural and awkward.  I like the sound a lot but I can't take the sentiments seriously while she's calling for a 'full time out from all things commitment'.  A what?  'Toils of liason?'  Huh?

She is one of the more pretentious popular song writers out there. Although for sheer audacity, few lines beat my favorite,"When I look back on the early 90's, your face comes back with a vengeance."

Yeah... because she hasn't been controlled by a puppet master since the mid 90's.  Her marketability as a would-be disgruntled she-rocker hit the skids when she stopped looking like a young girl and started looking more like a woman.

Can we have a moratorium on this song please?  It is currently being played on a daily basis.  {#Eek}

This song was played just 13 hours ago.  Isn't there enough in the library to space out replays of this trash more.  At least a full day would be nice.

I do.

If you all hate it so much why spend the time posting about it when you could be off listening to something you like?

Just a thought...

Something about the lyrics and the way she sings it makes it feel very unnatural and forced. Nice tune, horrid vocals/rythm by the singer. Yuck.
