I guess that's the variety of life, I'm still surprised though, the music on this channel is really good, but I guess that's why they play it for you rather than let you play it. It really is a mystery to me, too. Honestly, Mr. LaMontagne's voice makes me want to throw up. But why do I love Joe Cocker? Not logical, is it? |

Not a hug LaMontagne fan, but this is my favorite song from him.

I am undecided on this one. His voice seems to be getting on my nerves a bit and this song sounds pretty derivative. Hmm...maybe I'm not on the fence after all. |

This song has a real Otis Redding feel to it.

So—am I?

I suppose I do, now that you mention it. I was thinking more Ray Charles' "Heaven Help Us All." |

Ok, fine. I give up. I'll buy this album because I keep hearing so many good songs on it.
For the "overplay" people, do you mean overplayed here? Or on radio? Because I've never heard Ray LaMontagne except on RP. My local radio sucks.

I usually refrain from negative comments. But I have to agree. Genius album that is getting killed by being overplayed.

Love Ray, generally. This is getting played to death, though. Maybe not here. But when I (gasp) happen to hear the sound of commercial radio in my travels, it seems he's getting plenty of air time. Just saying. Don't bite my head off.

Agreed. Check it out...his birth name is Ray Charles J. LaMontagne. That ought to tell us something, eh? I have come to like the stuff I've heard on RP. I like the manner in which he decided to turn to music as a career even better...sort of a "take this shoe and shove it" kinda thing. Nice work RCJL! |
