Nice movie... nice song.
Please don't over play it though - it won't hold up if played too often.

Taste is a funny thing. I own a copy of the film and have watched it a few times. It's excellent. There is also an Austin City Limits show one can can steam from PBS with them billed as The Swell Season. |

I don't hate Glen Hansard because he was in the Commitments, so he's always gonna be cool for that. But I sure hate this song and didn't think much of the movie "Once." Whiney? Hoo boy!

Wow, coincidence... I just finished watching "Once" about an hour ago. Before watching the movie, I didn't know that I'd heard this song on RP, but when it came on, I recognized it right away. A pretty good movie, enjoyable, but not one that I'd watch over and over.

I also agree. The film is sweet and an honest look at life. The music fit in the film. But on it's own, it makes me cringe a bit. I feel bad about that. |

Well the boy doesn't get the girl, but I've certainly seen more depressing things than that. Although it takes alot for me to get emotional at something. |

Add a twist of Jack Black when he starts warbling and we have a match. /ed Seems others had pretty much this discussion half a year ago. /ed |

Having a rough afternoon here, and I get Crowded House, a beautiful instrumental, and then this poignant bittersweet song. Just perfect. Love RP!
