Audience

(5) A formal interview with a person in authority

"He demanded an audience with the pope."

consultation: a conference (usually with someone important); "he had a consultation with the judge"; "he requested an audience with the king"

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  It's great to be back at the Basilica!  But seriously, though, folks... My wife ordered something simple at a restaurant, the waiter sent me to her table! (drumroll).... Feel free to save your applause for the end of the show, your holiness!  You might be a redneck if you insist on drinking communion wine with a straw!  Your priest might be a redneck if Boone's Farm is his communion wine of choice!  What's the deal with that Yoko Ono?!  What about all that traffic in Rome?!!  Your holiness, have I got a treat for you!  I'm going to do my impression of Jack Nicholson working at a Taco Bell!...."

LOL - Could probably say the same thing for every great love song. Dig this one mightily, BTW.

Sorry, should have been droll, but the spell-checker "corrected" it for me for some reason...

I think this is a really great song. Good music.
But this guys voice just ruins it for me.

He's using this definition:
consultation: a conference (usually with someone important); "he had a consultation with the judge"; "he requested an audience with the king"
There's this thing called the Internet that provides all types of info. {#Devil_pimp}

I think this is the worst track off of the album.
Sounds like a 78 rpm single played at 33 rpm!

I think the RP community has this rating spot on. Seven seems just perfect for this wonderfully delicioso song. And as an aside, my grandmother loves when I play this on guitar cause she sings and smiles along with the chorus.

I recently bought this disc...I'm enjoying it.  So far I like the last track 'friends of ours' best.

I am very sensitive to his voice, I was doing something else and had to come to the computer to see who was singing. First time I hear this one song by Elbow, it's really nice. As for the lyrics, to associate the girl, the pope and saving the world in one song I must confess, is quite strange but somehow it works for my non native english speaker ears.

I'm sure they will. Can't wait for the next one.

Thank you Bill for increasing your play of Elbow. Can never get enough of these guys :)
