  Geographically large countries are not a rarity, but one with such a network of drivable roads and a splendid variety of geological, horticultural and cultural diversity affords the opportunity to drink deeply - which we did. Thanks for the compliment, we're kicking off the 2011 season of travel with a journey to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival April 29-May 6. I never dreamed Wally would be with me for all these years, but he's still willing to go whenever a door is opened. Not bad for a blind and deaf 140 year old.

I'm dying to know about all those extra miles.  Hugs and scritches to your darling dog. 19 is a LOT of doggie-years.  Welcome back, to the both of you. Life is a funny thing, innit? I'm happy to be sequestered in my bedroom with my ancient computer and ten cats that sleep most of the time. You wander the world with an ancient dog and learn new things.

I love your posts - they remind me that I have a brain and I need to trot it out and exercise it sometimes. Thank you for that.  And every time I hear this song, I'll think about you and smile.

Yep - the photographer had to fill his empty film canisters with rainwater and then pour the contents at the appropriate "strategic" points on the monolith.  The site of the photograph is a waste dump.  This monolith is one of several put in place to keep the waste from shifting within the site.

Funny story, they actually had stage fright when making this photo, they had to cheat and pour  rainwater on the monolith!{#Lol}

Good song from this album which I think is their best.  Just what is "an air-conditioned gypsy?"

This song makes me think of my best friend, who lost her home to some bad circumstances and ended up with a pickup truck and an RV. She now travels with her husband, who goes where the work is.  She's my Gypsy on the Road, and this song describes their life perfectly.  They're much happier now than they ever were when they were rootbound!  "I don't care about pollution - I'm an air-conditioned gypsy! That's my solution - watch the police and the tax man miss me - I'm MOBILE!"

Yep, love this song.{#Daisy}{#Sunny}

A perfect album.

Ketih's lead drumming.  John's lead bass playing.  Pete's rythmic guitar and overall genius and on the rest of the tunes besides this one - Roger's emotional belting.

I like The Who when they're subdued like this and just show what they can do without all the bombast and crap. Stuff like "Who Are You" or "Eminence Front" — forget it.
