I thought I knew classical music but I'd never heard that one before. Count on contemporary radio to bring me up to date. You guys are great!

The entire CD is marvelous. I am amazed to hear it spliced in among somewhat more contemporary works.

Oh, thank you Bill, for appreciating that Antonio Vivaldi was probably the world's first rocker. Feel free to do that some more.

You know, as much as I like Vivaldi, or maybe because of it, I think you do have a point. It's a shame to condense Vivaldi, Bach or Beethoven down to a three miinute sound bite. But it's a good way of introducing classical music to people who would otherwise never have the chance to listen to it. A 15 second snippet in a commercial is too short; but 3 minutes on a music station like RP is enough to think: 'hey, this is great!' And they'l be a happier person ever after.... |

RickyBobby wrote:Lookit. I usually don't like classical because for years my dentist would play it while I was getting drilled and stuff. But I have to say that this is AMAZING in headphones. More Vivaldi please. This outstanding work is overriding the drilling sound in my head. Good job RP! I nominate Vivaldi's Guitar Concerto in D Major, II Largo - RV 93. This is an excellent, brief guitar piece of about 5 minutes in length. It would be perfect for RP. It was one of the very few attempts I have made to upload a song into the archive. I got errors though, rejected :(. I'll leave it to the fates to see whether it makes it on the list. It is one of my favorite songs. |
