Shadowland was produced by Owen Bradley who was one of C&W's best producers doing Patsy Clines big hits so it was a natural for him teaming up with k.d. especially since Patsy was huge influence on k.d. The whole album is great if ya don't mind a lil C&W influence

Welcome to the smoky, dark cocktail lounge, circa 1953.  There's whiskey on the rocks on the table in front of you, and a new Studebaker "Loewy coupe" in the parking lot, and all is right with the world.

Wow, what a descriptive image!  I'm so there - in a booth with that deep-tuck leather upholstery, and I have my feet up and my eyes closed...  Mmmm.  May tomorrow never come, because I'm loving the now so much... {#Music}

If you like KD's version of this song, try Sinead O'Connor's version.

I'm not crazy about this song, but K.D. does marvellous things with it — 8.

...always kind of reminds me of a song from one of those Las Vegas female impersonator shows.  Of course, personally, I have never been to one...maybe, one day.

Saw her live in concert. Without a doubt, by far the best live vocal performance I have EVER experienced.

Shadowland is one of my favorite albums.  Would love to hear more songs from it (Busy Being Blue?) on RP.  Great torch songs, Western Swing, etc.

This song is about as far from "sucking" as a song can get.

It just draaaaaags in the most annoying way. I know that's sort of the point, but ugh.
