I think Lytle is also pretty explicitly referencing this song lyrically: Young: Flyin' mother nature's silver seed To a new home in the sun Lytle: We will run To a brand new sun. Both about the exhaustion of a place and a way of living, and a desire to escape to a new life. Excellent. Bill, you really nailed this. |

Grandaddy was a great band. Made me think of sleepy southern California 70's music.

Admiral Radley (Jason Lytle + Aaron Burtch from Grandaddy and Aaron Espinoza + Ariana Murray from Earlimart) will be touring the west coast (mostly California) in July. Their album also (I think) will be released in July. www.admiralradley.comWould love to hear some Earlimart on RP! |

I like this song, but it drives me ape because it sounds EXACTLY like a pop song - one hit wonder? - from the early 70s that I cannot place.

I just realized that if you strum your acoustic guitar over the top of your cheezy synth, it doesn't sound like the '80's any more.
I actually like the song, but I'm getting quite a few chances to deconstruct it.
