Back in the mid-90s, a friend of mine said that every single Dave Matthews song was about sex, and if I didn't believe him, just listen to the lyrics. |

I don't get all the DMB put-downs here. This song is a good rocker. Can that drummer roll or what? Those comments about Dave being "an annoying little turd" are really inappropriate. So go listen to the Red Hot Chillie Poopers, but why not lay off the vitriol? Ain't nothing but a song, he isn't trying to steal your wallet.

this. college in virginia, early 90's, dmb put on some great shows. then it just got LAME. no thanks. and this song is just afwul. horstman wrote:I saw Dave and Co in the late 80s when he first came out. It was a great show and my wife and I enjoyed his music, the spirit of the band and audience.
Since that time, he has turned into an annoying little turd.

A great monkey sequence. Makes me go ape :o). Maybe a song from Bonobo after this? |

Great band of musicians. Some of the finest. This song...along with most of Dave Matthews...is extremely annoying. |

What's up next, Mickey's Monkey? As much as I like Smokey Robinson, I hope we get the Mother's Finest version. Don't let our Monkeys down, Bill!

To Sense Worth: I'm not a huge DMB fan—tho' Stefan Lessard and Carter Beauford are an amazing rhythm section—but I just don't get all the hate here. Gee whiz, folks. If you don't like it, change the channel. That said, I think this album rocked a little harder than his previous efforts if only so they could get the untimely death of LeRoi Moore out of their system. So much of Big Whiskey & The GooGrux King, "GooGrux King" was Moore's nickname, is about him. I think you let people mourn; I think you let them manage their grief—and to our benefit DMB managed its grief by making this remarkable album.

Yet again RP proves to me that there is an exception to every rule. I don't feel the need to put on my own music. This is outstanding, for DMB.

I like some DMB, but this sounds conformist, lazy, lame, filling gaps sort of track. |
