A 7.

I don't know what one of the previous posters is talking about.  This is only the second time I've heard a song from Norah Jones' new album on RP, and it's been out for a while. I'd hardly call it overplayed.  In fact I'd say hearing Norah Jones on RP is a relatively rare event, speaking as someone who listens for 3 to 5 hours a day.

I understand how difficult it is to manipulate a library of songs with thousands of entries, the criteria and the strategy of the radio station (that an overall assessment is fantastic!), but would not be too much to ask that from time to time, be remembered that some songs belong to the imaginary of all or nearly all, and which marked an epoch. For example the song "In The Summertime" (1970). Because we are in summer. Because bring me good memories. I personally always pleased to hear this song a few times each year that passes. Because this song has withstood the ravages of time. And need not be a masterpiece...

"  "
In the Summertime" remains their most successful and most instantly recognisable song. Their name was inspired by the poem Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer, from T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. According to Joseph Murrell's The Book of Golden Discs (1978), 'Mungomania' was possibly the most startling and unpredicted pop phenomenon to hit Britain since The Beatles ",
Also is appropriate here to say that in recent times, the radio station has used a criterion of excessive repetition of recent songs for 2010, 2009, which unfortunately are not, definitely, the best years of the last five decades of musical creation. Do not know if that's good. Or is it a momentary lack of inspiration / imagination.

(Note: This comment has nothing to do with the quality of the album of artist Norah Jones "The Fall 2009", which I find interesting, although not to the height of previous work, but only with excessive frequency with which it is played on RP. Perhaps this is because of artist to be, currently, the best-selling in US.....)

For half-a-year I thought she was singing "Chasing Parrots" {#Eek} Anyways, I like that it's a departure from her former style. A really great song.

I love Norah Jones when she does the mellow stuff, but I adore her in El Madmo when she does stuff like "Rock Your Balls Off" and "Carlo," neither of which is RP-appropriate... *sigh*{#Foot-in-mouth}

almost without exception, you could select a set of their '9' and '10' rated songs, and then make a great mix tape where the track they hate would fit perfectly among their faves

And W-A-Y too poppy for RP.

Also, whoever conceived that album cover shot needs to be taken behind the wood shed....

Pretty good song, although you don't hear much of her father's influence in it.  {#Wink}

NPR interviewed her about this album not long ago.  She says she was trying to achieve an edgier sound with this work.  I'm not hearing it. Still smooth as silk.

I think that most of the songs aren't piano-driven but instead are guitar/beat driven may be what she was referring to. That voice, smooth as silk as usual.
