Sounds like it should be in a commercial for teen clothes.

Nursery rhyme noodling is not appealing.

LIVE as terrible as on CD!
Public at the concert: frantic 14-16 year olds! What a nightmare!

I find this band quite likeable. Not earth-shattering but still pleasant!

Same here. I bought this album a few weeks ago, couldn't find it because I put it in the glovebox, and then listened to it yesterday on a road trip. It is a pretty disappointing album, not unlike a lot of new bands that put out a really good first album only to follow up with something less original, less from the heart. As I listened to this half baked effort, I thought of how young "first album" bands come into the studio with a boatload of songs, pare them down to the essence which is what they are or what they wish to convey and that oftentimes, is the crux of the creation of something great. Then later in their careers, now that they are signed to a major label and expected to produce another gem, on time with their contract, they somehow lack the depth of songs, the "spark" that so fueled their initial efforts. They are no longer living week to week, struggling for that "big break" ,but instead find themselves in the land of milk and honey and those day to day efforts may dilute their intensity. There are good songs on this record, though. Songs and feelings of the beach and living by the shores of New England/NY/NJ that really evoke memories in the listeners as well as the singers. Overall though, not as good as the first effort. |

To answer your question more directly, I pay Bill the same amount I pay my cell provider to play this 'crap', as you call it. And, I encourage him to continue doing so. |

Any band that gives a shout-out to Futura is worth a listen . . . |

Uh oh... it's the rare playlist purple song! (Rating below 5.) That generally means that either (i) this is Michael Franti, or (ii) Bill & Becca need to find a better track on this album to play.

First line of this is dangerously close to ripping off Matty Groves...but that's not why I give it a 3. It earns that for being just plain bad.
