Saw these guys last summer when they opened for Tori Amos in Toronto. Didn't know what to make of them. They played a tight, melodic set of 4-5 tunes, including this as the opener (the girl's voice was pre-recorded and just came out of nowhere; weird). They must have felt pretty good about being offered Tori's tour. I think like any audience member, I was fired up to see Tori. These fellows came out, and you're "rooting" for them to play a solid set. They did. Not sure they're strong enough to carry a show on their own just yet.

This is a different version than I've been hearing? Or am I not awake yet.

this song reminds me of the simple, stupid, repetitive songs i made up and sung as a kid.  it's better reserved for pop radio than radio paradise.

"he called me babe"

It was shorter than 1 eyed circus freak, I guess.

I'll admit, I'm a little tired of this song. I'm sure there are other wonderful creations by this slightly-demented band. I went to their official website and was reading Adam's blog - I LOVE the way this guy writes!!  He's eclectic, observant, and hysterically funny - he's also quite introspective.  He writes like he (probably) talks.

So - new respect and love for One eskimO.  And a plea to whoever uploaded "Kandi" - please submit more!

It's a nice enough song, but baby baby baby, this shows up so often I feel like I've been listening to it all night long.  {#Puke}

I listen every day at work and have never heard this song. I like it.

Yikes! Some of my fellow RPers, can be such snobs! SOME of us only get to listen to RP off and on, so I have NEVER heard this on here.*
Wife and I first heard this song only a couple of days ago (guess who doesn't get out much?) on a {#Puke}commercial radio station and wondered who performed it. Searched their site for a playlist, etc. and they didn't have one. Idiots. Heard this today during my RP time, and with one click I had the info. I needed to purchase this album. RP gets the spiff. And that's just fine by me.

*So what I'm saying is, I guess, is that I need to listen to RP more so I can grow to hate this laid back and soulful tune as much as some of you.

This station is the absolute best. Becca, give ol' whatzizname a big hug and smooch for the lot of us out here who are fortunate enough to have found (Radio)paradise!

So, did you call him, "baby," too? I sure would have! "What's the problem, baby? I'm not doin' anything wrong, baby! You need to chillax, baby!" — you get the idea. You must ALWAYS have a backup plan!

like the evolution of Stevie Wonder's "Pasttime Paradise" to "Gangsta's Paradise" to "Amish Paradise"...

That sounds like one long, annoying night to me.   ALL he did was go, "baby, baby," all night long!  That's it!

And I agree, the lead singer DOES sound like Tracy Chapman, but I've always thought she sounded kinda manly, so it works out.
