JMHO,

I was wondering why it was possible that they didn't score a deserved 8 - 9.
Now I know, not everybody is completely flebbergasted by them in a good way.
Check them live and maybe you will get 'the feeling'.
And yeah they got my 10 :)

There are very few songs I hear on RP that I absolutely despise. This is one of them. PSD>>  PDQ.

The harmony is OK, but these lyrics are from a book entitled "How to Write Bad".  Sucko-barfo.

Actually, this song has ratings pretty heavily weighted to the upper end. There are plenty of other songs in RP rotation that have a very polarizing effect, but this one isn't one of them. I'm always amused when I see songs where the ratings form a very clear inverted bell curve - with most of the scores in the 1-2 range and in the 9-10 range. And I'm doubly amused when it seems that my favorite bands fall into this polarizing category - Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, etc...

Band of Horses is a consistent 7 for me. Another in a long list of good bands to which I'd be oblivious were it not for RP.

Yes, I also find a lot of music here that I did not get to hear in the "dry 90's/oughts" when there didn't seem to be any radio stations without screaming, mindless DJs and equally mindless music.  However I was lucky in the 60's, 70's and 80's to listen to excellent FM radio, yet Bill & Rebecca still play stuff from those time periods I've never even heard.  What a treasure this station is!

It grows on you, like the band. Simple but effective. Optimally listenable if not quite worthy of a zillion repeats.

I wouldn't call Band of Horses brilliant, but I do get a warm and happy feeling everytime I listen to them. The albums are also easy listening from beginning to end. Solid 8 for this one :)

I wasn't being jocular. I was being sarcastic. My point being that we are horrified at the thought that horses are slaughtered for their meat and don't give a thought to the fact that the same thing happens to cows and pigs. And I too find many practices in those places objectionable. I'm a pescatarian, by the way.

Just won tix to see them at the sold out show in DC next month.  Yay!  Won them by answering the question:

Who was "a horse is a horse, of course of course?"
