These are some really submissive lyrics. These girls should stop propagating misogynist stereotypes.

Sitting on a porch, hot summer night, listening to a storm roll in, breeze is waving the hem of my skirt, kissing my damp skin in the heat of the evening. mm, mm, mm

Sometimes a song just rubs you the wrong way. I love WJ's sound. I'd listen to 'em reading the damned phone book (does anyone use those things anymore)?

This would make a nice example for the word "interminable" in the dictionary.

There is a stripped down acoustic version of this song that is so simple and yet pretty amazing.

Been hearing a storm coming for a while. It got here pretty much when this song started.  Makes a great song even better!

Love the Jennys but I can't help but think they stole this.  Sounds and feels like The Duhks' Mighty Storm.

Perhaps it is because Ruth Moody used to be in the Duhks and is one of the founding members of the Jennys?

Since both bands are from Winnipeg and largely inhabit the same genre, some cross-fertilization is inevitable, eh?

In fact, Ruth Moody (one of the Wailin' Jennys) used to be in The Duhks.  Now, the original Duhks fiddle player backs up the Jennys.

Oh dear, the PSD song was shorter than this one, so I had to hear the last 20 obnoxious seconds. I don't know why, but I sincerely hate this song :)
