Wow....I purchased the album in 1975, watched my high school kids in Phoenix, OR paint the side of the gym to an identical replica of the cover...and today this sure is sounding so, so good. Thanks, RP.

Well yeah, but a big part of your argument is a result of the age of the song...a song that anyone who has ever listened to a rock radio station is familiar with. The result is that over time, what we heard as quite unique now feels quite familiar. Best thing to do is probably what they did and package a few versions of the old material up so we can get a sense of both the complexity and the difficulty of reproducing such truly amazing studio energy. |

Occasionally I hear some PF and it sounds experimental, atmospheric and interesting, I begin to think I've misjudged them. Then the 'song' starts and we're back in boring, MOR, blues funk. I guess it was experimental enough for the public at the time, but I wonder what they could have been like...
