Tasty, rich, soothingly spinning song...so many layers, so many thoughts brought on, so many vibes brought along...and knowing it's George's son makes it even better!  All success to him!

Like it.  Yet another RP discovery.  And based on comments, I take it this is George's son?  Way cool.  Had no idea.

Here's my best guess as to the lyrics:

I'm snowed in and my battery's dead

Flight's delayed and my friends were late
Then you forgot to wind your watch
Don't forget to watch out when you wind me up
It just wouldn't start, I couldn't even love
The handle stuck, I just gave up
I got left behind, I thought that you were right
Such a mean device how could you spin me all those lies?

And I'm hanging on 'cause I wanna
And the feeling's gone but I gotta
And I'm hanging on 'cause I wanna
And the feeling's gone but I gotta

Iron heart, and my broken arm
The train derailed, I'm feeling failed
We ran away until we reached the States
The night became a darker shade of purple gray
Bush fire in my phone lines
A no-man's land, wasted space and then
The lights went out and the voices shouted
Black bagged me then they dragged you screaming out the door

And I'm hanging on 'cause I wanna
And the feeling's gone but I gotta
And I'm hanging on 'cause I wanna
And the feeling's gone but I gotta

'Cause I wanna
But I gotta
'Cause I wanna
But I gotta

Machine guns. Afghanistan,
Microwaves, and pepper spray,
Poison darts, and throwing stars
Strike my heart and leave me lying in the gutter

'Cause I wanna
But I gotta
'Cause I wanna
But I gotta

This is Dhani Harrison (George's son) for those who don't know....I heard some of their stuff a couple of years ago before it got promoted, and was really looking forward to it becoming more widespread.

Thanks, BillG!

So at a festival last summer, I'm watching Glen Hansard on a side stage, and after a sloppy, rainy day, in the middle of his set, the sun finally peeks out.  And Glen, who loves to chat with his audience, starts playing a couple of notes from "Here Comes the Sun" and then stops and says something like —- probably shouldn't play that, makes me a little nervous to play it in front of the writer's son, and he looks over to the adjacent stage area, where Dhani and the rest of thenewno2 are waiting for their turn to go on.  Cool moment, was kind of hoping Dhani would come out and play it with Glenn... but he didn't.

The name of this band brings to mind an old TV show called The Prisoner.

It's an unmistakeable reference to it. Each episode of the Prisoner started with a similar title sequence, in which there was always the exchange:

Prisoner: Who are you?
Two: The new Number Two.
Prisoner: Who is Number One?
Two: You are Number Six.
Prisoner: I am not a number; I am a free man!
with a different actor playing Number Two in each episode.

Really like their sound. And the slight George tang of his voice is agreeable to my ears too.

Worthy of an 8 for starters.

That's exactly where Dhani got the name from.
