I always found Dennis Leary's "review" of The Doors movie to be the most accurate:  "I'm nobody, I'm drunk.  I'm famous, I'm drunk.  I'm fat, I'm drunk.  That's the movie; big fat drunk guy dead in a bath tub at the end."

The same Dennis Leary who yaps endlessly for Ford trucks on TV like he's still an edgy blue-collar wise guy. Whatever appeal his opinions had for me ended a long time ago.

One of the owners of a nightclub next to Morrison's last hotel came forward recently and claimed that he found Jim in a bathroom stall at the club, dead from a drug overdose. The owner was terrified that the police would shut down the club if he reported the matter, so he and a friend moved Morrison's body back to his hotel room via a secret staircase connecting the two businesses, drew a bath and plunked the body in.

Not the greatest Doors song. Who knows what Jim would have done if he'd cleaned up, but I think his Rock God days were coming to an end regardless of what he did or wanted.

Would you have liked his music any better had he died of leukemia?  {#Rolleyes}

I agree. You can't help but wonder how great the next album might have been. Alas.
Dying in a drunken/high stupor in a Parisian bathtub was Jim's fate.

Thanks again, Bill.  RP is the best radio station on the planet.  And this may be my favorite rainy day song of all time.  Not that it's raining here now, but still..

My senior quote:  "The cars hiss by my window like the waves down on the beach."

And I LOVE Jim's guitar solo at the end.
