Bill - You are killing me with the "Nick Lowe was the bass player in Elvis' band at the time"

He was the producer, mentor, drinking buddy, friend who happened to be a brilliant songwriter in his own right.

Bruce Thomas was the bass player.

The opening riff makes me think of Los Lobos' "Will the Wolf Survive".

The only EC song with some interest for me. Sorry for the lovers but I usually cannot stand his - thereof lack of - "voice" (same problem with Dylan)

Three amazing drum performances in a row:

Keith Moon on the Seeker, Jay Dee Daugherty on So You Wanna Be a RockNRoll Star, and Pete Thomas on P, L and U

I like Elvis C but this is probably the only song of his I'd rate above an 8. A solid rock song atypical of the man.

What's funny about it? The way he sings, most certainly.

He sings like he's about to vomit.

The best songwriter ever doing a song by the second best songwriter ever. Or vice-versa, maybe. Love it times a million.

I thought it was a train station.  You mean I've been standing on this platform, all this time, for nothing?  Great tune anyway.

Agreed - there are many great songs here.

But this one fits into bill's theme along with Throw Your Hatred Down etc.

I have a picture in my mind of Derek Zoolander saying this and then giving his best "Blue Steel" face.
