Yep. That's an album sleeve that really makes me miss the lp format! PG is a fine album. I really dig "In My Time of Dying" as well. I think side one, with that song, Custard Pie and The Rover is one of the best sides in Rawk. |

I guess you could say they were repeating themselves. I tend to think, and hear for that matter, it was more about maturity. |

No less an authority than Branford Marsalis thinks Physical Graffitti is an amazing album. |

Echoing the comments below, many LEd Zeppelin songs and this one in particular, need the volume know pointing to the "Pain" location on the dial.... |

interesting take. its my favorite of their albums, actually. i never get tired of hearing anything off of it.
especially, 10 yrs gone, sick again and others. i think its fabulous. and perfect for a chilly fall day. i can only listen to zeppelin in the fall for some reason. takes me back to when i first heard thank you in 8th grade. (i was a little behind the times) |

If you don't like this song it's because your stereo sucks. Best heard at a volume that shakes things off the wall.

I'm not too fond of Plant's vocals on this song, but the structure of the song (melody, riffs, progression) is quite awesome IMO.

Thank you for playing a deep cut from Zeppelin....I still love this group....just don't care to hear the songs that Classic Rock Radio has overplayed: STairway, Rock n' Roll, Black Dog, Thank You, and Heartbreaker.

Why all the negative Zeppelin comments? I think they've proven themselves over and over again. They've been copied, sampled, tributes and played over and over again. So many songs and albums... I'm sorry, but your going to keep hearing them played.
People like them.

Reminds me of sitting on the back steps of high school smoking marlboro lights in the freezing cold while still trying to look cool. Chapped fingers with chipped fingernail polish. But this song doesn't define Zeppelin, nor does Stairway to Hack-ven. I'd say it's -- oh god, I don't know, when the levee breaks? the immigrant song? theone that goes "boodle-oodle-oo" through the bayous in the concert film? oh forget it.

It's interesting the comments you get when you ask people, "What song defines Led Zeppelin?" A lot of people I know answer, "Stairway to Heaven", simply b/c it is the most recognizable.
My argument is always for THE ROVER. This song really represents ZEP at the top of their game. Everyone blasting on all cylinders w/ Robert's voice in top shape. It is a blues-based song, and Zep are through and through a blues-based band. Further, it has a bite and a sting that is rarely captured by any band, even the mighty Zep.
To this day, I cannot listen to this song without getting shivers down my spine. Isn't that what Rock and Roll is all about?
