I was a few months old when this song came out, more than 40 years ago. I remember my parents playing the record quite often. It was one of the first songs in English I learned, although for a long time most of the meaning was well beyond my second language knowledge of English. Still, it is one of those long-time companions and surely belongs to my life's soundtrack. So, there is a good chance with your baby-girl... |

Recently enjoyed watching again Paul Simon perform this song on the SNL 2000's Special, when he was on after 9/11. Very moving.

Is that a didgeridoo in the left speaker in the beginning?

Ah, our Daily Paul It's like those commericals for V8. I'm walking crooked until I hear Paul...now I'm walking straight with perfect posture. |

I'm sharing a moment with my 7 month old daughter and wondering if in forty years this song will mean as much to her as it does to me now.

That anyone would rate this a 1 tells us all we need to know about them... and nothing about this song.
