I know that some people think of him as cheesy. To the contrary, I find him so brave in his willingness to consistently expose both his emotional vulnerability and his spiritual beliefs. Plus, he rocks. |

Bruce Cockburn is one of the greatest of singer-songwriters: a great poet who sings his poems. He's in a league with the best (even those whom some say can't sing) like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Neil Young, IMHO. |

I know this isn't true... but it FEELS like this song should give anyone goosebumps when listening to it. I know its not true because I've played it for several people who were like "Meh... its ok". I love it though. By far my favorite song of his.

Such beautiful lyrics. I love melancholy songs.
Derailed and desperate
How did I get here?
Hanging from this high wire
By the tatters of my faith
Sometimes a wind comes out of nowhere
And knocks you off your feet
And look, see my tears
They fill the whole night sky

I said it once before and I'll say it again. This is hands-down my favorite Bruce Cockburn album. The track "Bermingham Shadows" blows me away every time.
