Brings back fond memories of Twin Peaks.  BTW, Twin Peaks set the stage for so many other off-beat shows that did not always make sense like Northern Exposure, X-Files, Fringe, and even Lost.

The base sounds exactly like the base in the theme song from Kids in the Hall, except the latter is much more sped up.

I'm surprised this is rated so highly. In reading people's comments, it seems to be due more to the show than to this song.

This show was on our weekly to do list with my girlfriend (later my wife) it gradually got too obtuse but the first couple of seasons were very likable at the time.  Sort of like Lost today with better music.  I still enjoy how Angelo created a theme for each character, Laura's theme having the best melody and hauntingly right pace and ambiance.

Has it really been nearly 20 years since Twin Peaks debuted? I would get chills whenever this came on to open the show, and hearing it now transports me back to that time. Good stuff.

Actually I think the tv show is not as good as the Theme song.
