This song give me the chills on many levels. I like it, but having growing up with "the simple" mentality (whatever that means) in southwest Virginia all I can say is that it all too often results in arrogant stupidity. But not always.

There was a lot to like about Skynard, and as much not to like. This one's up there in the cream.

this rocks!!!

Great blues-rock, I haven't heard a lot of LS songs except for the obligatory "Sweet Home". This has got me interested though, very bluesy, nice groove, very dirty-sweaty sounding. Great band sound too, pretty tight.........

More like this please, more "black" sounding music plz.

People need to hear Lynyrd Skynyrd for what is truly is, great blues-oriented rock. Very powerful and amazing if you listen before judging the music. I wish I could give this song an 11.

Very interesting comments so far, people ;) I think Skynyrd has some really excellent songs. It's great to hear them set a sort of country or folky lyric to straight-forward rock. RVZ's voice was made for this type of music. I think it would be interesting to hear songs like this reinterpreted. Maybe some folks who gag when they recognize that Skynyrd is playing a song would appreciate a different version.
