Paco is a true artist.
AD is from the school of., " Look at me, I can play really, really fast."
That seems a bit naïve. I think if you were to ask some really good guitarists, including ones who played along side him or studied with him at Berklee, they'd tell you he was much more than just a fast guitarist. I'll bet Paco would tell you that, too. |

Hey, are you accusing this of being as bad as Vogon poetry? Shame on you, mate! Mind you, it would be interesting if someone wrote a song based on "ode to a piece of green putty I found in my armpit this morning" ;) |

Been a fan ever since RTF "no mystery". Heard him once on a triple bill with Bireli Lagrenne and Larry Coryell in a bar in Hartford,CT. Awesome. |

Probably my favorite acoustic guitar recording ever. I tried to rate it 11 but the scale only goes to 10.

The Les Paul hanging from Mr. DiMeola's shoulder on the cover photo is a pretty good clue. |

I've heard this song enough times to be bored by it, but in Al Dimeola's hands, it's new again! zair99 wrote:I'm still not entirely sure how this song can exist on the same album as the strange jazz-fusion electric garbage that makes up the remainder.
Hey, that "strange jazz-fusion electric garbage" is what I like. But you're right about one thing... people should be aware that the rest of the album is not like this song. |

So, I bought the album on the strength of this track... oh man what a mistake! I'm still not entirely sure how this song can exist on the same album as the strange jazz-fusion electric garbage that makes up the remainder. Okay, "Race With The Devil On A Spanish Highway" isn't TOO bad, though it certainly doesn't match. Nonetheless, THIS song is quite spectacular. Just don't go buying the album thinking the rest will be even remotely close. It's not even in the same league, let alone the same style. |
