And I think it's some of the best guitar work Gilmour has done. It's loose and improvised sounding.
Super cool!
Improvised? Sounds tightly written and performed to me. It has heart. |

I've listened to this song countless times through the 15+ years since I bought the album, and I never realized how friggin brilliant that middle instrumental section is. Few people make 'em like this anymore. Suck it, all you PF haters. (Sorry, that last part was rude.)

It's the flying pig tour, come to Baton Rouge. We camped out for tickets. Bob and Greg and I decide to go down to the LSU Assembly Center where the roadies are setting up. We talk with some of the guys about the logistics of the pig and the other stuff. They're nice guys. It's a warm Louisiana day, and I'm in college, and loving life and what it brings.
This was part of the soundtrack.
Have you heard the news? The dogs are dead.

Angst with bite, so prefer this to today's Pop40 angst. Wright's keyboard playing will rock forever

I was actually shutting down my computer and had closed out of the site when I heard this come on and had to comment. I LOVE this album and think it is one of PF's best. The build up of the songs and the themes is fantastic. I used to have this album on tape and listen to it over and over again in my car. Great guitar by Gilmour and Waters' sardonic tone and overall voice make this just great stuff

I'm not sure why I can really dig this song but be put off by most other Pink Floyd right now... they're definitely a band I have to be in the mood to hear. Can't explain it and I don't deny their brilliance at all. This one always seems to work for me though.
