I think they used Sixpence, etc. version in a TV ad for birth control pills (Ortho Tri Cyclen?) as well.  It was a sort of funny suggestion: "There she goes again, better get her some birth control pills".
So much better to hear this version; great song.

At least it wasn't an ad for a bidet.

Edit:  Ahh, I see.  The single was released in '88.  Album didn't roll out until '90.  Carry on.

Usually I'm a sucker for a pop tune.

This one, though, is way too wimpy-sounding for me, heroin subtext notwithstanding.

Wish they stuck together.  But then again maybe a followup album wouldn't have been as good.  Gotta say, one (if not the one) of my favorite albums.

Couldn't have put it better myself if I tried.  Yet another example of how the market is pandering to the female component — to the detriment of integrity and male musicians in general.

So. How is it living in Bizarro World?

Quick searches aren't turning it up online, but I really like Scott Miller's/The V-Roys' cover of this.  Scott puts a nice growl into the delivery that makes it that much more interesting, like he's really not happy about how into she (or it) he is.
