If I first heard it today it might stretch for a 7, but at the time it was legendary, so going to have to give it an 8 for the memories!

For all those grumbling about the length they were really meant to be mixed into and out of other tracks, so in a sense it's not a fair criticism, but on the other if you listen to them on their own as here they can drag a little...

Bought the track from Amazon and added it to the front of my running playlist after hearing it here. Perfect song to set my pace to for the first mile and small change.

Very classy way to end Orbital's final album too. Thanks for introducing me to it.

Overall not the best orbital album. "Lost" and "You lot" are nice tracks.
The Hartnoll era is over and this song fits as the last released song. Somehow.
Thanks for the good times.

Hooray for new Orbital!  Somehow, Phil and Paul were always able to improve with each album.  I'm glad they reunited for at least one more run.

Does anyone know if this is programmed on one computer, or do they use multiple computers and overdub?  I really want to program my cell phone to ring like this.

It was Malcolm McLaren's 'Aria on Air' which was featured in the British Airways ad.

Here's the song on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ_Ep8i-Uh0

And here's the ad (brilliant ad): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxbgm9Bmkzw&feature=related

What makes this song truly great is that it features Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance... a lot of old Dead Can Dance songs melt me...

This reminds me of when our Geman exchange student first fired up a CD- all techno. I gagged, but bit my tongue to keep from slamming it. Actually, my tongue was pretty chewed up from rap already. At that point, I figured static had a pretty good chance of being the next big thing. Thankfully artists with more talent than twisting a knob or spitting in a mike continued to produce good music, and still do. They need our support, so can we play more of them, please, rather than this disco machine stuff? I mean, to each his (or her) own, but I won't own this.

Such a beautiful track. At 2.30am here in the UK, it's stirring something within which is really moving. Instant 8 for me.

2:30 am in Scotland. Nice. Probably even silently.

I'm glad that there's finally something that breaks the boring "everything has to fit into 4 minutes" scheme.
