There are far too many negative "reviews" in the last few comments, so I had to bring in a positive one.
I love the change in tone and interplay of the male and female voices. Great stuff.

Upgraded from a 3 —> 5. Somehow it sounds better following The Violent Femmes... |

Shinyhappy music - Plain White Tees meet Jimmy Eat World, mixed with a dollop of Nena (99 Red Balloons). Oh, and let's not forget the profound lyrics, reminiscent of R.E.M. on a really bad day. Sorry - not liking this song much. Then again, I'm in a Rhea's Obsession mood, so prolly not much would thrill me, except "20th Century Man" (I keep thinking this would fit nicely after Pink Floyd's "Free Four.") Shutting up now. |

I'm not too fond of these guys, but I think that the girls adding the beards on the cover is awesome. I would think that maybe they are somewhat sensitive about looking to masculine, but they play it up. Pretty Cool and Funny.

I saw them a few years ago when they warmed up for Bright Eyes (along with Feist) in Louisville. I actually thought that they were really good. I bought their CD. Not all of the songs are great, but I really like this one.

Saw them on that Jools Holland show from the UK — they were awful. They sound clean and simple on the record. They sounded untalented and unprofessional on the show. |

Maybe they're related, though their sound is quite different. Gosh, I haven't thought about Lothar & The Hand People in some time, probably for good reasons. |
