Nice, but this isn't the stuff we tune into RP for.

(P.S. Makes me think of Al capone)

Sorry, songs like these is exactly why I listen to RP.

(p.s. Capone was in jail when this was originally recorded, but I understand the reference to the Jazz Age.)

Anyone else see spinning plates?  Or maybe toy poodles doing tricks?

Cool. Worthwhile.

(BTW, I second the motion on the Harmonicats' version.)

For some reason I get the image of Johnny and Hadji running from some bad guy.  I have no idea where that came from but it's there every time I hear this song.

Suddenly, I'm thinking of the Ed Sullivan Show and Spinning Plates... Or was it trained poodles?

Probably should have been, but royalties would have been a bit difficult to obtain without a time machine (©1997?).

I just got back from band practice. We played this song for, like, an hour. This is the first I've heard it on RP!

Don't listen to a lot of jazz, but I really enjoyed this.

This is so well done! Often that song can turn campy but they handled it well. Thanks for playing it.

I don't usually comment negatively on any music heard here, but there are WAY BETTER versions of this out there (1000's). Nat Cole for one, any Ellington treatment for 6 more, etc.

Wow, this is nice. 'Caravan' really swings no matter who does it. The solos here are really sweet too.
