Didn't recognize her voice initially. When I match the voice to person, my opinion of both her and this song improves. |

I am so pleasantly surprised by her voice. It's not perfect, but I think I could listen to it all day!

Ms. Driver has a lovely voice. It was nice to listen to such pleasant music.

I prefer the cuts that Bill plays off of her earlier album Everything I've Got In My Pocket. This is verging on a little too "twangy" for me in contrast to her vocals. |

It's not fantastic, but it's not offensive either. I guess I'll just say "that's nice" and give it a 6.

Having been to several contra dances over the last few years, the idea of contra dancing in prison is making me laugh and laugh and laugh. The first few notes of singing on this song make me think it's going to be Aimee Mann. But that impression quickly disappears. |

Uh...I think you meant "contraband." But I would find it rather amusing if prisons were having a serious problem with illicit contra bands. Leaving that aside, however, I still have no clue what you're getting at. I think she has quite a nice voice and I dig the pop plus twang thing that she has going on in this song. Sure, she's Minnie Driver. Get over it. |

Very surprising. I was not expecting such trite pop. But I should have. |

Agreed. Although I heard her on XM radio once so I knew she had some ability. It's tough to be objective about someone when you know them already and for a different skill. All things considered it's hard to criticize this harshly. Nice stuff. |

Didn't she initially set out to be a singer and kind of fell into acting? She's got a beautiful voice, but I must say, she looks kind of anorexic in the picture below... |

This sounds like it could be a cover of a HEM song. Which isn't a bad thing, I like HEM, it just has that feel which I like.

Minnie Driver is certainly legit as a musician. This album, though, blurs into a sameness of mid-tempo songs.
