It's strange, but this one always makes me think about Christmas, i think it has christmas-like feel to it...

That's not a bad thing, but hearing it on a warm and sunny day like now feels a bit out of place....

Me too!  And, to address my last post - those who don't like certain types of music, or certain songs - just do whatever you do. Don't make me no nevermind.  I love this song, it still makes me smile, and I'm done trying to influence anyone.  {#Sunny}

Only the analytical part of my brain is capable of appreciating this one, personally.

AMG - Exploring the fruitful middle ground between early Radiohead's mopey art rock and Coldplay's radio-friendly dumbing down of the same, Elbow makes records built on a balance of things not often found together anymore: strange musical textures alongside immediately accessible pop song choruses, or unexpected left turns in song structure paired with frontman Guy Garvey's warm, piercing vocals.

so — I love early Radiohead and generally don't like Coldplay.  so I'll give these guys a listen

Too heavy-handed, and plodding for me.  I feel bad for the strings on their instruments.  It sounds ok, but it still makes me cringe, like they're about to pop a string.

Couldn't disagree more.  Let me also agree that the YouTube video of the BBC version is well worth watching.

After three straight days of gloom and cold June rain, this song couldn't have been more fitting on a blue, blue Colorado morning.  Throw those curtains wide, one day like this a year would see me right, indeed!

Every song besides Starlings. I don't care for the horn blasts in that song.

Other than that, I agree with you. Seldom Seen Kid was my choice for Album of the Decade.
