Some of DMB is good. Most of it is overplayed jam crap that aging Abecrombie and Fitch wearing VPs listen to as they're micromanging people to death, to make them "relate" with the grunts.

won't comment on DMB, but as for CC, their first album is solid winner a front-to-back IMO and the second album had some spots of greatness too... it was after that that they descended into suckyville (I never thought it possible for me to hate Big Yellow Taxi more than the original, but they pulled it off)...

Same sound different song title. I can't tell one of these songs apart from the other. Not a bad sound, just super redundant.Silence is a nice sound too.

CC is like bohemian elevator music. It's not offensive or anything, but you just kind of tune it out.

great musicality and arrangement - the space the band members give each other and the counter playing is well done

Counting Crows playing for free in Grant Park this summer! They are really good, even if Adam can be a bit of a dick.

I've listened to this disk a few times recently, broken out of the collection from, whats it been, 10 years ago. It is pretty good, but I think they stretched the 'new arrangements' a little on some songs; it shows, and sounds a bit too artistic toward the end of the album (a little too much of the spoken-lyrics-thing). In other places (Catapult, and this song stand out), I think they did a better job than the original!

Yeh, a whiny voice but strangely attractive, for me.  What grabs me about this track though is the bassist: MmmmMM!!

I like the original electric version but this one sounds thin and dry and just lacks any kinda substance...imo

Adding the words "In my opinion" to the beginning of that sentence would go a long way towards making you sound like a person with bad taste instead of an arsehole. That said, I agree with you about the Crows. Just my opinion.

Actually, it is a fact that the Counting Crows and Dave Matthews' Band are the two worst bands of the 90's.  Thus, there was no need for the poster to include any qualification.

He did say "probably", which goes nearly as far as "In my opinion". There's no need to be so tough on him, cowboy.

Interesting, going from Van Morrison to Counting Crows. I remember thinking, when the Crows' first single came out in the nineties, just how much the singer sounded like Van. Scarily so!

He also is ignoring such gems as Toad the Wet Sprocket and Nickelback . . . in my humble opinion.

He did say probably. And being correct also helps his case.

Poor Adam. I read an interview with him in Blender, and he bemoaned the fact he didn't live the life a "Rock Star" should. What a sap. He never was a rock star.
