I looked at the settings for may software...looks like bit rate is selectable when saving to the hard drive, but can only be reduced or left alone when making discs. Now I know! {#Wink}

Has anyone piped in about the bit rate? VBR takes up less space than say 320...of course, then, what level of quality are we striving for?

Just sayin'...

If we were sending mp3 CDs, that would work, but I want to make sure it's something that can play in any device you can play audio CDs in.

You could poll your recipients to learn if their car players play MP3 CDs (many newer models and replacement decks do).

But then that'd ruin the SOO -prise for your peeps, if that's something you're wanting to keep secret.

I could do that... but I have more than 2 CDs worth.

It's fine. I just dumped a whole lot of music into the playlist and figured I would pare it down. One needs to be selective when determining the right mix...

The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules. Anyway... I've started to make a tape... in my head... for Laura. Full of stuff she likes. Full of stuff that make her happy. For the first time I can sort of see how that is done.
