This is a musical slingshot of two different cultures. Great journey from one to the other and then there is the blend of both, very nice.. I danced Salsa in the kitchen to it. More than fun.

interesting. for what it's worth my ex chased me around the basement with a claw hammer a long time ago.she too thought it was a good instrument for the job. (escaped with only minor injuries and a new perspective on inviting her sister over when she was away) (bela fleck didn't figure in to the equation)

Lucky your perspective wasn't looking up from a hosptal bed!

Now Phil .. next time invite both sisters at the same time. Play The Scissor Sisters "Take Your Momma Out Tonight" and drink cheap wine.

Wow!... and there I was, thinking Bela Fleck & Chick Corea had got together again (behind my back) and made something new.

WOW!

(Ok, I'm just a slut for good banjo)

Limpo, I could probably arrange a date for you with Rabbi_Phil, based on your last sentence. Just sayin'

You know, I am glad that you mentioned Bela Fleck. I recently saw him in th Netherlands, and he was trying out something new, musically. It was absolutly awful!!!

I like this, though... Lovely use of banjo.

actually...

in collaboration with Béla Fleck she won the 2000 Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance

And how about Steve Martin? I've been seeing several live show of his lately, and Utube has videos of him with Earl Scruggs on Letterman's show. You can see what I mean and play cuts from his new album "The Crow" on www.npr.org also.

There seems to be enough RP interest and enjoyment of many styles of bluegrass, so, other than his pesonal quirky songs, he plays a mean banjo on many styles — a really good player!

Anyone else listenen without prejudice to all good music?

Bela Fleck is the only concert I've walked out on, about halfway through, bored out of my mind and I had wanted to go.
