gatorade May 29, 2013 - 23:18 | I've seen a bunch, and I mean A BUNCH of great guitarists...Jeff Beck...blew me away. Upped to a 10. Twirling big time in the kitchen. |
10th_rock Feb 24, 2013 - 16:12 | Damn....whew, terrific |

Propayne Jan 24, 2013 - 08:46 | well say goodbye to it... |
Hannio Oct 22, 2012 - 07:49 | Every hipster doofus in Austin wears a pork pie hat. |
ZLEX Oct 22, 2012 - 07:48 | HE IS JUST SUBLIME. NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY HE DIDN'T GET THE SAME RECOGNITION AS HENDRIX OR CLAPTON. |
d48m02h1918 Oct 22, 2012 - 07:47 | Brilliant and underrated guitar player..... |

Agreed...JB is my favorite former Yardbird guitarist by far |
JKFinally Oct 22, 2012 - 07:46 | There is Jimi Hendrix, then a ways down the road, Jeff beck, then every other guitar player |
midigitguy Oct 22, 2012 - 07:44 | Listen carefully. Simply the most sublime mastery of guitar ever recorded... |
Gaucho36 Aug 20, 2012 - 07:48 | i bought this album in high school because i was into guitar players and thought the cover looked cool - had no idea who he was or what type of music. I was basically an Allman Brothers junkie then. This album totally opened up my musical world with its jazz and funk influences. I played "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" for my college jazz professor who only knew the Mingus version....he was blown away!! |
bachbeet Jul 19, 2012 - 21:09 | Just terrific. Beck always has had a jazz influence. I wonder if Mingus ever heard this version. I'm sure he would have liked it. |
Poacher Jun 18, 2012 - 08:15 | Goodbye Pork Pie Hat? Not a chance. . . I wear mine with pride. (very similar to the one above). |
hbs47 Mar 15, 2012 - 04:17 | Superb artist , great live shows. |
Otomi Feb 12, 2012 - 10:40 | I learned to love this song when it first came out, with this version and on Rahsaan Roland Kirk's album The Return of the 5000 lb. Man (1975), and recently discovered the original on Charles Mingus Mingus Ah Um . All three versions are sublime. Then I picked up (really cheap) a box with 10 cds of the music of sax player Lester "Prez" Young, who inspired the Mingus composition. Lester was an amazing musician and the prototype of "cool." I had been wondering who he was for 35 years! Finally all the pieces come together. Thanks, Radio Paradise, for playing this. |
midigitguy Jan 11, 2012 - 15:20 | This is simply the finest example of mastery of the electric guitar that I can think of. There is so much subtle manipulation of the tonality and dynamics and absolute control of the instrument. |
drictor Jan 11, 2012 - 15:20 | Oh man, this takes me back to '76. What an awesome album! |
sfearll Jan 11, 2012 - 15:19 | can I get an "11"..?? |
