I don't remember ever hearing this song. The music reminds me a lot of "The War of the World" rock opera from the 70s.

liked animals from the beginning, & never understood why even pf themselves seems not to like it at all.
and, imho, animals aged far better than any other pf album (with exception of patgod, of course!) some of their most "famous" stuff sounds really "old" now, if not straightforward embarrassing, but the animals survived the decades astoundingly fresh ...

Yes they can, 200,000,000 million people though? Not likely.

PS that's the number of albums PF have sold. Roughly. 2 years ago.

200,000,000 million is 200 trillion. That's a pretty big number. Yeah, I know, I'm just being pedantic.

You're not fooling anyone, Laz. Have a good time in your hotel room. I mean church.

Perfect. Lights off, staring out the window at so much snow falling I can barely see across the street, with a foot of it already perched on the balcony railing.

Pink Floyd is perfect .

I've always loved the lines:

Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

Which occasionally comes to mind when I'm walking the hills past flocks of sheep, and which may well have been an inspiration for the excellent comedy horror film Black Sheep.

Personally, I think that sheep are cool, and get a bad press :)

One of many elements of artistic genius demonstrated by Pink Floyd is that their albums are often constructed thematically, which is as sophisticated as great poetry... the album Animals is based on a theme of personification, where animals are metaphors for humans... this song demonstrates how people can sometimes be much like sheep...

another element of the artistic genius of Pink Floyd is the awesome music...

love this song, and the whole thematic album...

Hmmm, there are circles where all one has to do is state a musical opinion which differs from that of the congregation, and in exchange they are guaranteed never to experience hearing loss?

This song instantly transports me to the 70's, concentrating intently on the exact placement of the lighter to the small, pungent core emanating from my TM. My lungs expand whilst my ears fill w/the aural pleasure of the floyd reminiscing about all the good times ahead.
