It often seems that many of the "music critics" who post in these threads apparently fail to acknowledge that any music even existed before the 1960s. There is a strange delusion that everything musical can only be traced back as far as Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Pink Floyd, etc., and that traditional chord progressions, which have existed for centuries, were miraculously "invented" a less than 50 years ago.
