This is another good example that you don't need to be a good singer to be a successful singer. This song has energy. I give it a 6.

Clearly not even close to some of Hiatt's best. It wouldn't kill me not to hear this one again on RP.

I'm a big Hiatt fan, but the production on this early stuff is suspect...the product of cheezy A&R types trying to squeeze a round artist into a square hole...

wow. this is awful!

the comments about his voice (sounds like a muppet, etc.) are great, though.

Of all the wonderful songs JH has produced, why play this ho-hum selection? I might add that his voice is naturally strange anyway, but really weird in this one, even for me.

This one goes way back!! Agree on the production. Very sloppy. Maybe thats it charm!!!

A cool tune with a nice jam that reminded me of Dave Mason's "Look at You Look at Me". I've always liked John, but hadn't heard anything older than Bring the Family.

Heh. Sorry to follow my own quote, but this time it reminded me of "All Along the Watchtower", which Dave Mason played on too. Did a good version on his own as well.

I'm usually a fan of John Hiatt, but this tune just isn't doin' it for me. It is, however, quite interesting to hear some of his earlier work. I've never heard anything of Hiatt's that is this old. Thanks, RP, for not just sticking to the newer tunes.
