Glad that I don't hear this so often, then. I LOVE this song and have the best memories associated with it.

Maybe I can change your mind with the killer Karaoke version that I do after a few beers. I bet that would make you appreciate this brilliant song.......(or not)

I gave this a 10—-when it came out, there was nothing else like it—-it is always a joy to hear.

Unfortunately not, I had the displeasure of meeting him on business terms a few years back and within 3 minutes he had pulled the "dont you know who I am?" card, following it with some self appriciating drivel about "greatest artistes of the 20th century".

I told him I was a Lady Gaga fan and had never heard of him.

Oh, the Irish Humour maybe. ??

I always thought that Van's voice had a distinct Porky Pig feel to it in this song. I still love it, but I still see Porky in my mind.

I met him and his publicist in a hotel 5 years ago, no one has made such a bad impression on me since. He really just thinks that he is one of the last great stars in our time and should be revered as royalty. i wouldnt pi55 on him if he were burning.

I also met proper royalty and they were charming.
I do like this one thou.

This is why I like RP so much, mixing old favorites with some new, and more obscure sounds seem to leave me rediscovering songs like this. Sort of puts a new shine on these great tunes.
