You don't need some complex bulls*it to make a great rock song. A terrific hook, have something to say, good singin' and playin' and just get in the flow and say it, I think Tina Weymouth epitomizes that - she can barely play the 4 strings on her bass tht's almost as big as she is, but she plays her simple little line just right !

Okay, maybe you didn't mean to damn Tina with faint praise, but for the record...she's a whale of a bass player, impeccable pace and timing, musical lines, and the ability to play within the demands of the song—and sometimes lead the song. "Take Me To The River" is an example of the latter. Check out her technique on the "Stop Making Sense" DVD, and you'll see for yourself.

Will always remind me of Bud Fox house hunting in Wall Street...

Tina Weymouth has always been a pretty skilled bass player. She played with a lot more syncopation and feel than many other "rock/pop" bass players.

Favorite Talking Heads song. Aren't you glad you asked?

Great songs endure. This one sounds good whether the Heads are doing it, Shawn Colvin, or the host of others. This one can change the mood of the whole day...and 'Remain In Light' can change weeks or months.

Just tired of David Byrne trying so hard to be 'artistic'. Sounds stupid to me. I like TH for the most part.
